Installation with digital support

On the Paver, the PAVE Navigator can be used to measure the temperature in the augers for transverse distribution and as a surface scan behind the screed, in addition to the transfer temperature at the hopper. The benefit of these additional measurements is the complete verification of the temperature balance for documentation purposes and the possible detection of problems with the Paver’s machine technology. In addition to the temperatures of the asphalt mix, the temperatures of the substrate to be overlaid and the weather data are important for assessing its cooling behavior.

The VÖLKEL Navigator uses a weather station that measures the temperature, wind, humidity and dew point. Alternatively, this data can be retrieved from the Internet from the nearest weather station.

The system uses an automated interface to mobile layer thickness measuring devices for recognized verification of the installed layer thickness and for quantity calculation. In addition to the layer thickness, the VÖLKEL Navigator supports the measurement of the variable screed width including the attachments. When using a feeder, its hopper sensor system is simply integrated via Bluetooth.

The following COMPONENTS make the PAVE navigator complete: The case of the navigator set contains a display and the GNSS receiver with modem. The PAVE installation set consists of a sensor carrier with a surface temperature sensor and an optional weather station. A display quick-release, temperature sensors (e.g. on the hopper, conveyor belt or auger), a cable sensor and the “intelligent node”, which saves all machine-specific settings, are available as optional setup-packages.
