HCB-VCB (Value Control Basic)

The proportional amplifier controls the volume and thus the speed of an actuator.

Inputs and outputs:

  • Digital inputs, parameterizable as release, direction selection, fixed values, parameter set selection or characteristic curve switchover
  • Analog inputs (0-10V/0-20mA) for setpoint setting, with parameterizable cable break detection
  • Proportional outputs with current feedback measurement for proportional valves
  • Digital outputs for status indication and fault diagnosis

Detailed information on the VCB

The proportional amplifier controls the volume and thus the speed of an actuator.

The set values are read in from setpoint generators, higher-level controllers or sensors and mapped to proportional currents to control the solenoids of valves.

The standard hardware for this control system is the HCB controller, which can be used to control up to 4 solenoids. VCB enables the configuration of 4 uni-directional valves (e.g. variable throttles, hydraulic motors, etc.), 2 uni-directional and one bi-directional valve (e.g. pump, 4/3-way valve, etc.) as well as 2 bi-directional valves. Analog inputs for encoders and digital inputs for fixed values that can be called up by switch are available for setpoint specification.

The benefit of electro-proportional adjustment is the sensitive control of actuators. Their non-linearities can be compensated for by characteristics; joysticks or accelerator pedals are also superimposed with characteristics to increase the sensitivity of the control. Target values are reached via adjustable ramps; there are different ramps for different target values.

If more than 4 solenoids are to be controlled, the Valve Control Basic controller can be ported to other hardware platforms. A customer-specific extension would be, for example, the multiple assignment of a joystick, in which other outputs are assigned to the joystick using a switch.

The controller function is defined by means of parameterization.

Possible applications include excavator jibs, discharge belts, etc.
